York Alpine Club was founded in 1981, and exists for the encouragement of
all kinds of mountain activities, including walking, climbing, skiing and
biking, and is affiliated to the BMC.
We pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming to new members, whatever
your level of experience.
We meet on Thursday evenings at Brigantes
Bar, 114 Micklegate, York (map)
from 9.30 p.m. onwards.
The Club's calendar of activities includes:
Weekend meets, staying in huts or camping
Sunday walks
Mid-week evening and weekend climbing, on local crags
in the summer and at Leeds and York climbing walls during
the winter
Regular social events
In addition, groups of members take part in many other
outdoor pursuits, including mountain biking, road biking, orienteering,
and caving.
Check our blog
